Hiring Part-Time Evening Help

Howdy,

Brazos WiFi is hiring 1 (or possibly 2 people to share this role) for a 4-8PM, Monday-Friday and 11-3 on Saturday CSR position. We don’t get a lot of calls or e-mails outside of our normal hours but as we have grown, we now need someone to catch those calls / emails.

  • Answer inbound phone calls and assist current and/or new customers with technical and/or billing issues.
  • Respond to inbound e-mails related to technical and/or billing issues.
  • Occasionally provision equipment for the following day/week.
  • Sweep / Vacuum once a week.
  • Lock up at the end of the night.

Who is Brazos WiFi?  We provide rural and semi-rural areas with wireless and fiber internet services.  Currently we service nearly 3000 households and are growing year after year.

Our ideal candidate would be someone who has a firm technical understanding of home internet equipment and a general understanding of the internet at large.  Spanish/English speaking applicants are a plus but not required.

Pay starts at $12 hour.  More for exceptionally qualified applicants.

We don’t mind this employee’s free time being spent studying or reading so long as all the work is completed and inbound communications are handled appropriately.

We anticipate filling this position by October 1st, 2021.

Office and Job Location:
12135 Hwy 30, College Station, TX 77845

If you are interested, please e-mail your resume to: info@brazoswifi.com

Thanks,
Jim Bouse

Billing Changes for 2021

Starting with the January 1st billing cycle, we will use a new billing system.

Our old billing system (FreshBooks) is retiring the platform we use and their new platform is incompatible with our needs.
We have been testing a new system for months and are happy with it’s abilities.

Unfortunately, we are not able to move the saved credit cards from the old system to the new system.
This will require inputting your card into the new system once you are enrolled.

The new system has:

    • Ability to see and download all your old invoices
    • Save credit cards or ACH (bank draft) for future payments
    • Enroll in automatic payments
    • Submit payments online
    • Submit trouble tickets
    • More to come…

Be on the lookout for an e-mail with login instructions for the new billing system in the coming days.

Instructions on how to enroll in automatic credit card draft can be found here.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email and we can discuss.

2020-3-24 Fiber Cut & Repair

Today, around 3PM, some contractors accidentally damaged our fiber feeding about 10% of our customer base. Normally, this would mean a very long outage while the damage was located and repaired.

Luckily, a *NEW* fiber line was completed last week but we didn’t yet have it activated.

Through quick action of our team, we were able to get the new line activated and traffic re-routed to allow people to resume their normal internet usage.

We have backup wireless links but today we discovered they’re woefully inadequate and we are working on plans for alternative backup solutions.

Thanks Scott & Shannon for handling the onslaught of calls and thanks Brian for running and plugging things in and activating the new circuit.

COVID-19

Howdy Folks,

To ensure the health and safety of both our customers and our employees, we are suspending new installations and limiting our on-site service work.

Our team is available by telephone to assist with technical issues and will schedule service calls for infrastructure repairs only.

Since many of you are home from work and school now, our usage has nearly doubled, and we are fast-tracking some upgrades to deliver more bandwidth further into our network. These upgrades require quite a bit of work, and we hope to have most completed by late next week. We had planned to make these upgrades during the coming months but the spike in usage has moved this to the top of the list.

Please bear with us as we make these adjustments and work through the logistics of making repairs while ensuring customer safety.

Feel free to call us at 979-999-7000 or email info@brazoswifi.com.

Thank you,
Jim Bouse
